We are initiating a full circle program, not just a one time scholarship opportunity. Now in our 11th year, we are expanding our program to work with area businesses and corporations. As a result of that we are adopting this mantra in our business relationships, “Donate, Sponsor, and/or Provide Internship/Externship”. We are asking our corporate sponsors to afford our scholars the opportunity to intern where it is mutually beneficial, or do a day in the life programs. Where our awardees actually come and witness these careers in real time. In addition, we are talking to our corporate partners about forecasting, so the kids might seek degrees & training that will fulfill the current and future hiring needs of our area companies. That plus preparing our awardees to be civic minded and active in their communities, makes our program significantly different than others entities that request funding support.
